Confronting The Past

Narconon Colorado Graduate

From the very first step in the Narconon Program, we work on improving a person’s ability to face situations or people without avoiding them. The reason we work on confronting life and people in it is because it gives a person the ability to face their problems instead of running away from them. During the Personal Values course, students work on confronting issues from their past that they have usually been avoiding. By confronting and taking responsibility for past mistakes a person raises their responsibility level. A common benefit of the Personal Values course is a feeling or relief and an ability to move forward with one’s life.

“Writing the harmful acts which I did and hid from groups was kind of rough at first because I really didn’t want to think about when I was younger and going to school high and drunk. I’m not very proud of that but it feels good to confront it and take responsibility for what I’ve done. With each overt and withhold book I started to feel lighter and it feels good to confront and take responsibility for my actions instead of running from them.”
