The New Life Detoxification Program
For many people, the New Life Detoxification is a major turning point in their journey towards sobriety. This is one of the many things that sets the Narconon Program apart from other programs.
“While completing the sauna program, I had many positive wins and gains, both emotionally and physically. On day one, I noticed a significantly large change in my overall positive attitude which continued to grow throughout the program. I shared many laughs with others and then continued to be a positive role model for the new students. Overall I have noticed myself having more control over my emotions and how I handle situations. I feel I have become a healthier individual with better sleeping and eating habits. I am on a schedule and have a daily routine. Physically, my strength has improved drastically. I have the energy to bike, walk and run after sauna hours. I feel I have built strong relationships with the staff and gained their trust and showed them my interest to improve myself, along with having the confidence to ask questions, advice and help when needed. Most importantly, I feel this is the same with my family. I’m starting the repair and trust process with them. I look forward to daily phone calls. Yesterday, my dad said that he could hear an additional pep in my voice when I shared with him that I had completed sauna!”

“My sauna success story focuses mainly on the physical and mental gains made during detoxification. When I arrived at Narconon, I was emotionally numb, but through the detox process, I began to feel emotions again. It wasn’t a flood of uncontrollable emotions or sensations but a gradual process. And as it went on, I realized I was better equipped to manage those emotions. My clarity of thought also returned, which allowed me to process these emotions correctly and without the inclination to use. Physically, I gained 17 pounds and have been able to start hitting the gym again which is life-changing for me since my weight has always been a self-conscious subject. My eye color has become brighter—which other people have noticed and that also was very helpful for my self-confidence. I did not realize how much I had withered away both mentally and physically but through the sauna program, I realized how far downhill I had gone. My first realization in the sauna was that no matter what happens I will be okay. I have been very worried about getting my job back, but I am finally okay with letting it go and starting fresh if necessary because I am comfortable and confident in my ability to succeed. Thank you to all who have helped me!”

Getting Past the First Days of Addiction Recovery
The idea of quitting drugs or alcohol is often a scary thought to someone who is caught up in addiction. The fear of going through withdrawal or living a life of sobriety often times holds people back from taking the first step towards a better life.
Figuring Out My Priorities
The New Life Detoxification portion of the program (also known as the sauna) is an important aspect of the Narconon Program. This is often times a major turning point in people’s journey towards addiction recovery.
