LIFE SKILLS COURSES
Learning how to analyze different personality types is a major aspect of The Ups and Downs Course at Narconon Colorado . While this phase of the program is comprised of several different aspects, the major take away is learning how to recognize the different personalities of the people around us.
The Life Skills courses which are part of the Narconon program and address key aspects of the student’s life. These are the tools the student will need to be able to rebuild his or her life with a clean slate as well as stay on the sober path.
The goal of the Narconon program is long term success for the student. After the physical addiction has been handled, the students report feeling remarkably better and now they are ready for the final program steps.
Simply put, the Life Skills courses give the students the ability to start a new slate with a positive outlook on their ability to contribute to themselves, their families and society.
A big part of the Personal Values Course has to do with looking at past actions and taking responsibility for them. By looking at how substance abuse has impacted past behavior a person often begins to realize what a negative impact drugs and alcohol have had on their lives.
One of the things that we work on at Narconon is improving someone’s ability to confront both past and present problems. By doing this a person is able to gain better control of their life. “Doing the Personal Values course, part of the program has helped me greatly in many ways I did not expect.
From the very first step in the Narconon Program, we work on improving a person’s ability to face situations or people without avoiding them. The reason we work on confronting life and people in it is because it gives a person the ability to face their problems instead of running away from them.
It is well known that an addiction negatively effects the people around a person who is addicted, especially those who love them the most. A person with an addiction does not necessarily do things to intentionally hurt their families, it is unfortunately just an unavoidable side effect of substance abuse.
The goal of Narconon is to not only get people off of drugs but to give them the skills that will help them to improve every aspect of their lives. “Thanks to Narconon I got my life back. I’m happy with myself and happy about my life…“
An important aspect of remaining sober is learning who to keep in your life and who to stay away from. In the “Ups and Downs“ section of the Life Skills course we focus on learning personality traits that will help us to figure out who will help build us up and those who will tear us down.
